Please take a moment to read the following letter:
Dear Friends,
On Saturday, May 16, 2009 a terrible tragedy suddenly changed our families’ lives.
While on a charity motorcycle ride for Big Bikes for Little Tikes our loved ones, David and Cindi Sandvick, were in a motorcycle accident near Genoa, Wisconsin. David suffered a separated shoulder and is expected to make a full recovery after rehabilitation. Cindi, David’s wife and mother of Nathan and Morgan Sandvick, was air-lifted to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital and immediately underwent back surgery to stabilize her spine, which was broken from the impact of the accident. Cindi also suffered a broken jaw and broken ribs.
Sadly, at this point, we do not know if the rehabilitation Cindi is undergoing will allow her to walk again. Cindi is expected to be in the hospital for many weeks to try to determine if paralysis will be permanent.
What we do know is no matter the outcome of this tragedy, the Sandvick family has a very long road ahead of them, dealing not only with the physical toll, but also the financial obligations that will be facing them in the very near future.
David and Cindi have been, for the most part, life-long residents of the Holmen, Wisconsin area. Both of their children attend schools in the Holmen School District. Nathan will be a senior next year and Morgan will be in 7th grade. top of page
